WHY WE WAIT TO REACT??

Be it a civic problem, or security issues, we Indians always wait to react until the problem gets big & gets media coverage. Govt. & the concerned authorities come in to action only when some one dies, people block roads & they are caught napping by media reporters.

Take the recent example of Mumbai floods. the situation has not improved what it was three years back. What if it is a financial capital of India every time monsoon comes roads turns into rivers, then only media covers it because now they have a topic & pictures to show on there 24x7 news channels, & for rest of the year they don’t even show a single report what concerned authorities are doing to avoid monsoon floods. The concerned authorities are also not working because they also know as soon as media will get another topic they will leave us alone & common man can’t do anything.

Take another recent example of shortage of water & electricity in Delhi. People where killing each other for water, people where destroying electricity offices, & just see how chief minister has again fooled people when asked about electricity & water crises “this problem is going to be solved in 2 to 3 days, as we are arranging electricity from other states”. In reality monsoon was expected to hit Delhi in 2 to 3 days. As soon as it will rain electricity & water crises will be over automatically. This is how chief of the state solves problem. Next year again this problem will be there & again we will get same response from the chief minister.

The problem we Indians have is:

We have very short memory.

We are self centered.

We lack unity.

Until we are not affected, be it flood, terrorist attack, pollution, crime, we don’t react. This is what our Govt. & other authorities have learnt from us.

When our fellow citizens (Kashmiri pandits) in Kashmir where killed by terrorists no one in entire country was agitating or blocking roads. When our fellow citizens in north east are killed by ULFA or other groups no one is questioning authorities why it is happening again & again. When our fellow citizens in (A.P, Orrisa, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar & other naxal affected states) gets killed by naxals no one asks why are they not been wiped out.

Now we (the citizens) & Govt. are concerned as these terrorist groups are now striking in Mumbai (financial capital of India), Delhi (capital of India) & Bangalore & other states which may raise eye brows of international firms situated in India. May get covered by different media groups nationally & internationally for day or two, but as soon as they will get fresh topic of (rape, murder, corruption, politician, celebrities) they will stop showing stale news as they are in cut throat business. Because they want to gain TRPS & want to show world that they were the one who showed it first.

With this type of mentality by Govt. & we (the citizen) our country is on the brink of yet another division.

Govt. & we (the citizen) are not even thinking for once what problems we are going to leave our coming generations in to.
